A very blurry Billy Tan.  New Avengers artist BILLY TAN came out to help us launch our first show despite his incredibly busy schedule. Billy did a lot of sketches for fans and signed a ton of books. We can’t wait until we get to bring him back to St. Louis someday for another show.

Samnee and Garza Two of our guests busy pushing lead. Chris Samnee of Checkmate & The Mighty  on the left, and Alé Garza of Fathom and Supergirl on the right. Get sketches from either of these two guys at your first opportunity. Chris Samnee is a master at using positive and negative space in his sketches and Alé Garza is easily among the best in the industry when it comes to drawing smokin’ hot women! (In my personal top three with J. Scott Campbell and Terry Dodson)

Joe Benitez Hey Joe smile for the camera! Joe? Hellooooooo? Well this is Joe Benitez artist of JLA, Detective Comics, Darkness, Wraithborn and others. He was obviously kept very busy with requests for sketches. One of the nicest guys you’ll meet in comics and an incredible talent. Did you see his Executive Assistant Iris covers?

Gary Friedrich The creator of Ghost Rider himself Gary Friedrich stopped by and chatted with the fans. Did you know that Gary has been working in comics since the 1960’s? He’s written for a ton of Marvel Titles including  Captain America, Captain Brittan, Daredevil, The Incredible Hulk, Sgt. Fury & his Howling Commandos, Iron Man, and the Uncanny X-Men. This guy IS comics.

Kevin Mellon Kevin Mellon, artist of Gearhead, Hack/Slash, Thirteen Steps, and his upcoming book Suicide Sisters met the fans with a smile, when he wasn’t busy sketching. He’s very talented…I hate him for drawing better then me. Someone give this guy an X-book already!

DWAP Productions Some of the guys from DWAP Productions showed up. They even brought some guy with dreads from California with them. Check them out online at www.dwapproductions.com, you’ll quickly become a fan.

David Faught Local talent David Faught showed up and from what I was told, had requests for sketches the minute he sat down. He was great with the fans, and I don’t think he stopped sketching all day. We look forward to having him back at future shows.

Also in attendance at our show, but apparently a little camera shy since we have no photos of them, were Senior VP and Editor for Dark Horse Comics, Randy Stradley and also Writer for Dark Horse Comics and Video Game Designer Mike Kennedy. While we didn’t get photos of these two, the guys at Superfunpatrol did manage to get these videos of them both.

Here are a few more shots of the con. We have some more around, we just haven’t gotten them uploaded yet.
